The City of West Fargo is requiring that all street inlet protection devices are removed effective Nov. 1, 2018. With the winter season coming up, the devices need to be removed before city snow plows catch and destroy them or the inlets. It’s important to remove all the sediment from the devices as they are removed and not allow it to enter the storm sewer system. Any protection devices left in place will be removed by the Public Works Department starting Nov. 5, 2018. The City of West Fargo also recommends that all perimeter controls (ex. straw wattles) that will be left in place to be moved two (2) feet back. This will ensure that they are not damaged by City snow plows. Please keep in mind that protection is required as snow melts in the spring. The City of West Fargo is not responsible for the condition of any street inlet protection devices and perimeter controls left in place during the winter.
