Utility bills are mailed out the last day of each month and are due and payable upon receipt. Any payment not received by the 15th of each month becomes delinquent. There is a $10.00 late fee that will be assessed monthly on an account that is carrying an unpaid balance. Delinquent accounts are subject to disconnection. To re-establish service, payment must be made in full with cash, credit/debit card or a money order including a $30.00 reconnection fee. Reconnection of service ceases on weekdays at 2:00 PM. Service will remain disconnected until paid at City Hall between the hours of 8:00 am and 2:00 PM weekdays. Payments that are returned from the bank for non-payment will be charged a $20.00 fee and are subject to immediate disconnection.
Payment may be mailed, or delivered to 800 4th Avenue East, West Fargo, ND 58078 or left at drop boxes for utility payments which are located at SunMart or at the City Hall entrance. There is also the ability to automatically pay your bill by pre-authorized debit. Credit card payments are also accepted via telephone and in person as well as online. In order to have your City of West Fargo water/garbage/sewer bill paid directly out of either your checking or savings account you need to complete the customer authorization form below and forward it to the West Fargo City Hall.

Moving in Town or Moving Out
If you are new in town and need to set up services for utilities, you will need to complete the form below. The City of West Fargo has adopted the "Red Flag Rules" which implements an identity theft prevention program and as a part of the compliance a written application for service must be completed by anyone seeking utility service in the City of West Fargo.
When moving out you do need to contact the City of West Fargo and let us know or the bill will stay in your name. Please contact us via, email, phone or fax and let us know so we can get the information we need (forwarding address, closing dates/moving dates, new owners names etc). Please note that the bill cards WILL NOT forward to your new address automatically, they will be returned to us.

Water services are billed on a monthly basis for the prior months service. Changes for water are based on usage recorded from monthly meter readings then billed on One Thousand (1,000) gallon increments based on meter readings obtained by the city.
The minimum service charge of Seven and no/100 Dollars ($7.00), includes consumption of Two Thousand (2,000) gallons of water. Any usage over 2000 will be billed at cost of Five and no/100 Dollars ($5.00) for each Thousand (1,000) gallons.
A .50 cent charge is included each month for vector (mosquito) control. is added to all water bills. The proceeds are placed into a special vector control fund and be used only for purposes of funding the City of West Fargo’s vector control program (mosquito spraying).
This .50 cent charge is placed in a special forestry fund to be used to fund grass and tree maintenance on public property, including public right-of-way in the City.
Sewer charges are billed on a monthly basis. Charges for this service are based on metered water consumption.
The owner or occupant of each residential or commercial premises connected with the sewer system of the City shall pay a minimum service charge of nine dollars ($9.00) per month.
All residential premises shall pay an additional charge of one dollar ($1.00) per one thousand (1,000) gallons for flows greater than ten thousand (10,000) gallons of water per month.
All commercial premises shall pay an additional charge of one dollar ($1.00) per one thousand (1,000) gallons for all flows greater than one thousand (1,000) gallons of water per month.
Garbage cans need to be watertight and made of metal or plastic with a close-fitting metal or plastic cover, and shall have a capacity of not less than ten (10) nor more than thirty-three (33) gallons.
It is the City of West Fargo's objective to encourage the reuse of valuable resources and to reduce the quality of solid waste that must be brought to the landfill. Your cooperation and effective participation is a contribution toward the achievement of that goal. At this time our program accommodates glass, aluminum and steel cans and newspaper.
Recycling bins can be picked up at West Fargo City Hall, 800 4th Avenue East or the Public Works Building at 810 12th Avenue NW. Recycling is collected every two weeks on your regularly scheduled garbage day. You will receive a recycling collection schedule when you pickup your recycling container.
