FARGO, N.D. — The Face It TOGETHER affiliate in Fargo-Moorhead is launching a Community Awareness & Attitudes Survey to learn more about community understanding toward the disease of drug and alcohol addiction. The survey is being conducted by Face It TOGETHER Fargo-Moorhead in conjunction with the Face It TOGETHER National Office to examine attitudes and awareness around addiction. It will be replicated every two years as part of a comprehensive data-driven evaluation program led by the Face It TOGETHER National Office.

The West Fargo Police Explorer post is currently accepting applications for new members. Exploring is a nationally recognized program, providing young adults career orientation experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary goals of the Police Exploring program are to help young adults choose a career path within law enforcement and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and the nation. Explorers are given hands-on law enforcement training in order to help them determine if a career in law enforcement is the right path for them.

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation announced on July 5 that it has awarded a grant of $27,114 to the West Fargo Police Department towards the purchase of ballistic vests and helmets. The vests and helmets will be carried in police vehicles and will be available to officers for use during high risk incidents. The grant program is part of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation’s commitment to improving the life-saving capabilities and the lives of local heroes and their communities
