The West Fargo Public Library’s Ready to Read initiative is made up of a handful of programs with one common goal - to help children in West Fargo be ready to read and succeed in school before they head to Kindergarten.
Through Ready to Read, children under the age of five build basic early literacy skills through reading, writing, talking, singing and playing in a safe, fun and social environment. The Ready to Read program also helps adults to learn how to support their child’s education from home.
The West Fargo Public Library offers three public storytimes weekly to help build children's early literacy skills in a fun, safe and encouraging space. Learn more about storytimes.
A library card opens a world of opportunity for children while giving them ownership of their library experience. Having their own card makes visiting the library and picking out books tons of fun too! To obtain a My First Library Card, visit the service desk at the library to fill out an application for your youngster. Be sure to choose the My First Library Card design option when you fill out your application form.
The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the West Fargo Library is exactly what it sounds like! The program supports you in achieving the goal of reading 1000 books with your child before they head to Kindergarten and provides additional tips and practices you can do at home to support your child's development along the way. The library helps ensure every child at local daycares is ready to read and succeed in school through daycare book deliveries and other partnerships. Learn more about daycare visits, storytimes and book deliveries.
