The West Fargo Forestry Division, in cooperation with the North Dakota Department of Agriculture installing several community orchard pilot projects within the City of West Fargo in 2017.
Community orchards are small local orchards designed to encourage healthy eating habits. The orchards contain apples, pears, plums, peaches and cherry trees for residents in the area to use for eating, baking, cooking or canning.
Edible landscaping is the use of food plants as design features in a landscape. These plants are used both for aesthetic value as well as consumption. Edible Landscaping Guide done in collaboration with Concordia student, Rachel Landmark.
