Library E-cards

The West Fargo Public Library offers an E-card designed to provide access to the library’s online resources. E-cards are available to residents of West Fargo and the West Fargo school district, West Fargo property owners, employees of the West Fargo School District and employees of the City of West Fargo.

With the E-card you have access to...

  • Digital Books & Media: Download or stream e-books, audiobooks, magazines, music and movies
  • Databases: Access online genealogy resources, consumer information, scholarly journals and encyclopedias
  • Online Learning: Sign up for an online class, learn a new language or get homework help from a live tutor
  • In-Library Computers: Use the public desktop computers in the library

E-cardholders are permitted to check out only the library’s digital material. E-cardholders are not permitted to check out printed books, periodicals, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks or technology equipment from the library. E-cardholders who wish to use full library services, including checkout of physical materials, may convert their E-card to a card with full borrowing privileges by visiting the library in person and showing photo ID and proof of current address. You may have only one type of West Fargo Public Library card at a time.

E-cards expire every 2 years and may be renewed over the phone or in person at the library.

Children and teens are invited to obtain their own E-cards. A parent or legal guardian must submit the online application for children under 14.

Already have a library card?

If you already have a library card allowing checkout of physical materials, you do not need to fill out an application for an E-card. You already have access to the same online resources as E-cardholders. If you have questions about your account or accessing online resources, please call the library at 701-551-8940 or complete the online contact us form.

Apply for an E-card

To get an E-card, complete an online application. After library staff have processed your application, you will receive an email containing your library card number and PIN that you will use to access online resources. You will also receive a physical library card in the mail at the home address listed on your application.
