How do you brand a community? Two words: Community participation
Who better to form the story of West Fargo than the community? Chandlerthinks, our place marketing specialist, has a public engagement process that goes straight to the community to find out how the community sees itself. It is the foundation for developing our most compelling, authentic story.
During this process Chandlerthinks will conduct a variety of activities to learn about West Fargo from the community. This include a first impressions tour to replicate how a new resident, business or visitor will encounter our community. Next, Chandlerthinks will conduct one-on-one interviews and focus groups to hear about West Fargo's strengths and weaknesses, businesses and their typical customer base, strongest assets, history and vision for the future, personality traits, and workforce recruitment challenges. This process also include a public input session where any member of the community can provide their perspective on West Fargo.
Chandlerthinks will take the information they learn during these activities to develop a community perception survey. This is a quantitative survey that will measure how we recommend West Fargo as a place to live, do business or visit. It will explore how we describe West Fargo; how well West Fargo delivers on quality of life and opinions on the current City reputation.
All of this research is compiled with an analysis of community promoters, events, reviews, search results and competitor to identify key insights that identify a compelling distinction for our community.
