Special Assessment Commission Public Hearing on Objections

Monday, August 8, 2022

The purpose of this meeting is for the Special Assessment Commission to hold a public hearing on the proposed special assessments and hear any objections from interested parties or their agents. After the hearing, the Special Assessment Commission confirms the list of special assessments and files the list with the City Auditor's office.

The City of West Fargo Special Assessment Commission will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, in the Commission Chambers of West Fargo City Hall. During this meeting, the Special Assessment Commission will review the following projects that are being wholly or partially funded through special assessments:

  • District No. 1315 - Westview 3rd Addition Phase 2
  • District No. 1331 - The Wilds 20th Addition
  • District No. 1332 - Westview 4th Addition
  • District No. 1334 - 9th Avenue NE from 5th Street NE to 7th Street NE
  • District No. 2250 - Sheyenne Street Reconstruction from Beaton Drive to 40th Avenue

Property owners in the improvement district have the opportunity to object to the proposed assessments in two ways. They may submit the objection in writing to the City Auditor (cityauditor@westfargond.gov or Attn: Special Assessment Objection, 800 Fourth Ave. E., Suite 1, West Fargo, ND 58078). Or, they may appear in person at the Special Assessment Commission public hearing.

Information about these projects, including improvement district maps, can be found at on the Special Assessment Project website. A list of proposed special assessments, along with the time and date of this public hearing will appear in the legal section of The Forum.

During the Special Assessment Commission public hearing, impacted property owners may attend and present their objections. Based on these objections or new information presented at the public hearing, the Special Assessment Commission may alter the assessment allocations or confirm the list as it was published.
