A former West Fargo resident, Mary DeJong, will discuss her newly published book, “Through a Daughter's Eyes” at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the West Fargo Public Library. DeJong's work describes her family's journey after Mary's father Tom, is diagnosed with cancer. DeJong will talk a bit about her experience, both with her father's illness and writing her book, answer audience questions and be available after her presentation to sign copies of her book. This event is free and open to the public.

Mary DeJong is a Denver high school English teacher who writes stories during her plan periods. After graduating high school in West Fargo, North Dakota, Mary received her bachelor's degree in English Education at Minot State University in 2015. While she has been writing throughout her life, “Through a Daughter’s Eyes” is Mary's first published title. She lives with her husband who keeps her company exploring used bookstores, discovering new hiking trails in the Rocky Mountains, and supporting the Denver Nuggets.
