Update: Garbage and recycling collection suspended Monday, Dec. 30
Due to the conditions of the residential streets, there will be no garbage or recycling collection in the City of West Fargo Monday, Dec. 30. Crews will collect Monday and Tuesday routes on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
City of West Fargo municipal buildings closed Monday, Dec. 30
Due to significant snow accumulation from blowing and drifting snow, the City of West Fargo municipal buildings, including West Fargo City Hall, West Fargo Police Department, West Fargo Public Library, West Fargo Fire Departments, West Fargo Public Works, West Fargo Sanitation Department, are closed to the public Monday, Dec. 30. All nonessential City of West Fargo employees should not report to work.
A no travel advisory is still in place. Roads such as the 12th Avenue N and Ninth Street NE, westbound 26th Avenue W. between Sheyenne Street and Ninth Street W., and 26th Avenue E. and Fourth Street E. intersection are blocked. Areas on the outskirts of town are also experiencing significant snow accumulation on roads due to blowing and drifting snow. Crews are working to open those up as possible and have moved into residential areas.
Those who must travel should ensure they have proper clothing, a full tank of gas and winter survival gear in the vehicle before leaving.
