At 3:30 p.m. March 16, West Fargo Commission President Bernie Dardis is expected to sign a declaration designating coronavirus COVID-19 an emergency in the City of West Fargo. Cass County Commission Chair Chad Peterson and Fargo Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney will also sign declarations for their jurisdictions.
The emergency declarations will be signed for each jurisdiction in the Commission Conference Room of the Cass County Courthouse at 3:30 p.m. in 211 S. 9th Street, Fargo.
The declarations give the county and cities the ability to access federal funding to prevent the spread of COVID-19, following disaster declarations last week by President Trump and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum. The effort to limit the exposure and spread of the coronavirus is a community-wide effort that knows no jurisdictional boundaries.
