[ARCHIVED] 13th Avenue Corridor Study Kicks-Off at West Fest Saturday

West Fargo 13th Avenue Corridor Study Map

The City of West Fargo and Fargo - Moorhead Metropolitan Council of Governments (Metro COG) are gathering input to create a long-range plan for 13th Avenue between 17th Street SE and Main Avenue.

In West Fargo, 13th Avenue has seen a steady increase in traffic patterns with residential and commercial development anticipated to continue increase and the roadway to become an even more valuable arterial for travel through the city. However, 13th Avenue between 17th Street SE to Main Avenue has failing pavement conditions and will not be able to support further growth in the roadway’s current condition.

A study is needed to determine an appropriate future use of the corridor and offer alternatives to better define current and anticipated traffic patterns, right way needs, bicycle and pedestrian and transit accommodations and feasibility of better connection to the interstate system.  We're looking to collaborate and listen to your ideas that will lead future research into alternatives for the corridor.

Public input will kick-off the efforts of the corridor study with community event participation at West Fest, Saturday Sept 16, and continue until the technical feasibility work is complete in early 2018. Come visit the team in front of The Sheyenne Plaza building at 4th Ave N and Sheyenne Street to participate in free activities for the kids and share "What's on YOUR wish list for 13th Avenue?"
