[ARCHIVED] West Fargo Public Library to hold a graphic novel and short story writing contest

Contest

The West Fargo Public Library is holding a graphic novel and short story writing contest as part of the 2020 Summer Reading Program. The contest is open to West Fargo School District residents of all ages. Entries will be broken down into different categories by age for judging. The deadline for the submission is July 31, with contest winners announced on August 17.

The contest is a chance for the West Fargo community to show off their literary and artistic talents. Additionally, it allows the Library to encourage and support literary and artistic endeavors within the community, while also encouraging creativity and empathy through art and literature. As an added bonus, this contest can help kids engage in activities that battle summer slump or learning loss.

Those interested in the contest can find the entry form and more guidelines here. Additionally, the Library is hosting virtual writing workshops throughout the summer for adults and teens to hone their story and writing skills.

To stay up-to-date on all things Summer Reading Program, patrons are encouraged to register their family for the program on Beanstack, like West Fargo Library on Facebook and to keep an eye on www.westfargolibrary.org.
