Due to COVID-19 pandemic conditions in Cass County continuing in the orange, high-risk level without significant improvement, the West Fargo Public Library will close to walk-in foot traffic for the safety of the community and employees. Starting Friday, Nov. 6, guests who would like to visit the West Fargo Public Library will need to book an appointment via online form, email or phone. The library will also offer curbside pickup service and have Wi-Fi access available from the parking lot.
Beginning Thursday, Nov. 5, patrons can schedule an appointment to visit the library by going to westfargolibrary.org and choosing Schedule a Visit; going directly to www.calendly.com/westfargopubliclibrary; calling (701) 551-8940; or emailing askus@westfargond.gov. Each appointment is 30 minutes and guests can use any of the currently offered services, sign up for a library card, learn about digital access to library services, and use computers during the visit. Using appointments will help staff monitor the building’s capacity and facilitate social distancing between patrons.
The West Fargo Public Library will also offer curbside pickup beginning Friday, Nov. 6. To use the curbside pickup service, guests can place a request for items using the online library catalog, emailing askus@westfargond.gov or calling (701) -551-8940. Requestors are notified when their request is ready and should call the library when they arrive to pick up their items. More details on curbside pickup procedures are available at www.westfargolibrary.org/curbside.
The library hours of operation will also adjust under this change. The library will be open for appointments Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library will close Sundays. This service model will continue until conditions allow Cass County to return to the yellow, moderate risk level.
In addition to the changes outlined above, the West Fargo Public Library will continue adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols. This includes hosting events and programming virtually, strongly encouraging guests to wear face coverings, and sanitizing frequently. Guests should maintain distance from others while using library services.
To help encourage compliance with these protocols, disposable masks are available to guests in the library. Sanitization stations and wipes are available throughout the library. To learn more about the library’s COVID-19 policies and procedures, visit www.westfargolibrary.org/COVIDprotocols.
The West Fargo Public Library encourages patrons to join the library and City of West Fargo in following the guidelines of Fargo Cass Public Health, North Dakota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help limit the spread of coronavirus. The West Fargo Public Library will continue to share updates regarding its response to COVID-19 and any operational changes on Facebook and www.westfargolibrary.org.
