On Monday, May 10, inside lanes of 23rd Avenue E., between Veterans Boulevard and Bluestem Drive, will close for concrete pavement repairs and median improvements. East and west through traffic lanes will remain open. The median in front of Costco and Veterans Commons will close so vehicles will be unable to cross 23rd Avenue E. Traffic will also be unable to turn left across 23rd Avenue E. from both sides of the road. This is a permanent median closure to improve safety in the area.
The next step in this project location is full pavement repair of westbound 23rd Avenue E. west of the Costco entrance on Bluestem Drive. During this closure, traffic will not be able to travel west of Bluestem Drive on 23rd Avenue E. and will have to detour south.
Work at this project location is expected to last 28 days. This is one of 13 locations that are scheduled for concrete pavement repair this year. For a full list of project locations, visit westfargostreets.com and click on the Concrete Pavement Repair tab.
Congestion and delays are likely during peak commute times, so drivers should consider a different route. Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed, space and stress.
