The West Fargo Fire Department and Fargo Fire Department will graduate their new recruits after a joint fire academy. The graduation ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021, in the Fargo City Commission Chambers (225 Fourth St. N). The ceremony will also be livestreamed on the West Fargo Fire Department’s Facebook page.

“We’re proud of the 6 firefighters who worked hard during the 10-week academy,” said West Fargo Fire Chief Dan Fuller. "They are now able to serve our communities to the best of their ability."

The fire academy consisted of classroom work, drills, ride-a-longs and live burn scenarios. This is the second time the departments have held a joint academy.

“The joint academy helps our teams learn to function together,” said Fargo Fire Chief Steve Dirksen. "This teamwork will better serve the City of West Fargo and the City of Fargo."
