[ARCHIVED] North Sheyenne Street urban reconstruction project moving to phase 2 Wednesday, June 2

North Sheyenne Street Urban Reconstruction project update

On Wednesday, June 2, the north Sheyenne Street urban reconstruction project will move into phase 2. This phase will close Sheyenne Street from Fourth Avenue W. to Second Avenue W. It will also close sections of Second Avenue W. off Sheyenne Street. The project is moving into phase 2 ahead of schedule.

The first week of phase 2 work will span from Fourth Avenue W. to Third Avenue W. to complete road removals and alley paving. The second week will extend the construction work through Second Avenue W. for the rest of phase 2.

Phase 1 will also begin to reopen in stages. Sheyenne Street will first reopen between Fourth and Fifth Avenues W. to allow on-street parking in front of the Sheyenne Plaza. The rest of phase 1 will open as work is completed.

Access to businesses and detour routes are set on Sukut Street and Morrison Street. Public parking between The Firm and Pioneer Place remains open and accessible through the public alleyway east of Morrison Street. Temporary public parking is also available at the former Berg Auto site. To learn more about this project visit the project's page. The public can register for project alerts at https://www.westfargond.gov/list.aspx

Motorists in these areas may encounter congestion and delays during the morning and evening commutes and should adjust their travel plans accordingly. Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed, space and stress.
