The City of West Fargo is closed Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, in observance of Veterans Day. There is no garbage collection that day. Thursday and Friday garbage collection will take place Friday, Nov. 12. There are no changes to the recycling schedule.
On Thursday, Nov. 11, all municipal government buildings are closed to the public, including City Hall, Public Library, Sanitation, Public Works, and the Transfer Station. Public safety agencies are in full operation but the West Fargo Police and Fire Department buildings are closed to the public on this day.
The City of West Fargo contains three outdoor sites for residents who would like to honor veterans on Veterans Day. The POW/MIA Plaza, located at 400 Sheyenne Street, is a public park recognizing prisoners of war and those missing in action next to the West Fargo VFW Post #7564. Maplewood Park, located at 1504 17th Ave. E. contains the Veterans Memorial in memory of those who served. The 4th Street E. tree dedication, north of 31st Avenue E. near Maple Ridge Park, contains trees planted in dedication to local fallen heroes.
