The City of West Fargo will host two town hall forums on the City’s capital improvement plan Tuesday, April 26. They will be held at noon and 6:30 p.m. at West Fargo City Hall, 800 4th Ave. E., West Fargo, ND 58078. During the event, a panel of City officials will provide a short presentation and then attendees can interact with panelists during a moderated question and answer session. The meeting will be recorded and available on the City of West Fargo’s YouTube channel and online agenda center.
The capital improvement plan (CIP) is a plan and cost estimate for capital improvement projects over the next five years. These projects may include street, water, or sewer system projects or new buildings or equipment. While the plan covers five years, the CIP is flexible and allows projects to be added, removed, or rescheduled as directed by the West Fargo City Commission. Each project is also presented to the West Fargo City Commission multiple times before final approval.
The CIP is an important planning tool for the City. The proposed plan uses multiple funding sources like sales tax, utility fees, and state and federal grants when available. It also includes funding guidelines that have a goal of reducing the use of special assessments. The CIP will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
The CIP is available to view online at https://www.westfargond.gov/DocumentCenter/View/7568/2022-Capital-Improvement-Plan-Presented-March-22-2022. Those who cannot attend the meeting can submit questions through an online form.
