West Fargo Fire Department releases spring firefighter test date (PNG)

The West Fargo Fire Department is offering the spring firefighter test on Tuesday, May 17. The test will assist the department in filling open positions for both part-time and full-time firefighters. Interested applicants must pass a written civil service test and a physical agility test. There is no prior training or fire service knowledge required to apply for the part-time positions. Full-time firefighter applicants must obtain firefighter one and firefighter two certifications.

“The public holds a great deal of trust in our department,” said West Fargo Fire Chief Fuller. “We are looking to recruit firefighters with integrity who are committed to serving the community.”

The department has adopted an all-hazards method of operations to plan, train, and respond to all incident types. From routine fire and medical calls, to natural disasters, pandemics, and terrorist incidents, the West Fargo Fire Department is the front line of response for the community.

The West Fargo Fire Department will look to hire an additional 24 firefighters, both lateral and non-lateral, with the addition of the new department headquarters in 2023. Interested applicants can learn more and apply online or at the West Fargo Fire Department Main Station (106 1st St.).
