[ARCHIVED] West Fargo Fire Department responds to Friday residential fire

4:30 p.m. update: The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental and originated at a surge protector.

At approximately 12:40 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, the West Fargo Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 block of 6th Street NW for a residential fire. When crews arrived on the scene, they found a single-family, two-story home with smoke and flames coming out of the second story. Crews were able to knock down the fire quickly with an offensive attack.

No one was home at the time and no emergency personnel was injured. The second floor suffered heavy fire damage, and the rest of the residence received smoke and fire damage. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation.
