[ARCHIVED] Road crack sealing scheduled to begin Monday, May 9

ROAD CRACK SEALING SCHEDULED TO BEGIN MONDAY, MAY 9 (PNG)

West Fargo Public Works crews will begin sealing cracks in roads Monday, May 9. The work should be complete by the end of June. Crews will complete work according to the maintenance zone schedule and weather conditions.

During the maintenance zone day of the week, residents cannot park on the street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crews will first remove excess debris from cracks and then fill them with an asphalt sealant. Sealing the road cracks annually helps the City of West Fargo save money by preventing additional costly road repairs. Left untreated, cracks allow water underneath the road bases which leads to pavement damage.

The maintenance zones share the same boundaries as the garbage collection schedule. The assigned maintenance zone day of the week will be the day before garbage collection. For more information on maintenance zones, please visit the West Fargo Streets website (https://www.westfargond.gov/1099/Maintenance-Zones).

Motorists in these areas may encounter slow moving equipment causing congestion and delays during the morning and evening commutes and should adjust their travel plans accordingly. Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed, space and stress.
