The City of West Fargo has been recognized as a Tree City USA community since 1984 through the Arbor Day Foundation. To maintain this designation, a City must maintain a forestry board or department, have a City tree ordinance, spend at least $2 per capita on urban forestry, and celebrate Arbor Day.
Arbor Day is a global celebration to plant commemorative trees, provide education on tree planting and care, and celebrate the benefits trees provide.
