UPDATE 6/16/2022: Contractors have postponed work on this project. At this time both door 1 and door 23 are available for West Fargo Public Library patrons to access. Because work on the sidewalk removed the grade (or ramp) of the sidewalk, wheelchair users or those with strollers will want to continue to use door 23, which has a ramp available.
The West Fargo Library will continue to update patrons throughout this project. To be the first to know about library news, service changes, construction and upcoming events sign up for email alerts at https://tinyurl.com/wfplnotifyme.
Original Release: The front entrance to the library is closed June 9 through June 17, 2022. Contractors are performing maintenance on the parking lot and sidewalk at the Lodoen Community Center, which houses the West Fargo Public Library now through June 17. During construction, patrons must use Door 23 on the north side of the Lodoen Center off of First Avenue E. to enter and exit the library.
Library visitors are encouraged to park in the lot on the north side of the building near Door 23. There is also street parking available on Third Street E and First Ave E as well as in the surrounding neighborhood.
The library's outdoor book drop is also closed through June 17. To return books to the library, please bring them inside, visit a Little Red Reading Bus route stop or drop them in one of the library's offsite book drops (located inside Cash Wise at 755 33rd Ave. E and Eagle Run Plaza at the corner of 32nd Avenue and Sheyenne Street.) The West Fargo Public Library is fine-free, so patrons may also hold onto their materials until construction is over if they are unable to use one of the other options to return their books.
The Lodoen Community Center and adjacent buildings are home to the West Fargo Public Library as well as the Early Childhood Center, YMCA daycares, Headstart, Community High, Transition Academy and other entities. When visiting the library, please be courteous of others using the parking lot and keep an eye out for families and children, especially during times of parking lot congestion. The City of West Fargo recommends using the 'S' check when traveling in and around construction areas - check your speed, space and stress.
