[ARCHIVED] City of West Fargo City Commission special assessment confirmation for 2250

New Confirmed Assessments

The West Fargo City Commission confirmed the special assessment allocations for District No. 2250, the street improvement district for the reconstruction of Sheyenne Street from Beaton Drive to 40th Avenue that is partially funded through special assessments.

The special assessment balance for each project is now available to view per property at https://www.westfargond.gov/518/Property-Information. Certified special assessments may be paid interest-free for the first ten (10) days after they become certified by contacting the City of West Fargo Finance Department at (701) 515-5010. The interest-free payment window for these projects is Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, through Monday, Oct. 24, 2022. Only special certified assessments can be paid. Pending special assessments are estimates only.

Following those ten (10) days, the city will amortize the principal amount over a 25-year term and interest will accrue on the outstanding balance. An annual special assessment installment payment is included in the property owner’s Cass County consolidated tax statement and due with property taxes. If a landowner disagrees with the decision of the West Fargo City Commission, they may appeal to Cass County district court.

Information about these projects is available at https://www.westfargond.gov/1021/Special-Assessment-Projects. Once the City Commission confirms the special assessments, the City certifies the special assessment amounts the following day.
