[ARCHIVED] West Fargo Municipal Court to hold Second Chances event Tuesday, Nov. 1.

CITY COMMISSION MEETING (2)

The West Fargo Municipal Court is holding a Second Chances event 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at West Fargo City Hall. This event will allow individuals with active warrants in West Fargo to appear without the consequence of arrest or bond for failure to appear. Those who appear may still be sentenced or issued a fine if convicted.

“This event will allow people to take care of active warrants,” said Municipal Judge Trent Barkus. “We also want to bring awareness to the public that they can check for active warrants and address the court without needing to be arrested.”

West Fargo Municipal Court has jurisdiction over all violations of West Fargo ordinances and may hear cases from traffic violations to Class B misdemeanors, with exceptions for cases that must be handled in a higher court. There are approximately 1,600 active warrants in West Fargo.
