Patches

At 4:49 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, the West Fargo Police Department arrested Barry Dean Rieken, date of birth Dec. 14, 1965, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, as part of an online, undercover child sex sting.

Rieken was charged with luring a minor by computer (C Felony) and possession of methamphetamine (A Misdemeanor). Rieken responded to an online advertisement placed by an undercover law enforcement officer posing as a 15-year-old juvenile female. During those online conversations, Rieken agreed to meet with the female and commit sexual acts on her at a hotel.

On March 15, 2018, Rieken drove from Fergus Falls to meet the female and was met by West Fargo police officers at the 800 block of 32nd Ave. E. He was arrested without incident. Officers also located methamphetamine during a search of Rieken.

Rieken is currently being held at the Cass County Jail.

In all cases, defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
