At approximately midnight April 12, 2018, the West Fargo Police Department was notified by the Red River Regional Dispatch Center that a white Dodge Ram had fled westbound on Main Ave. from the Fargo Police Department. The driver was wanted for questioning over an incident involving a firearm in the City of Fargo.
West Fargo officers located the vehicle as it entered Main Avenue near 45th Street. West Fargo officers followed the vehicle south on Ninth Street E./Veterans Boulevard to 32nd Avenue E., where they attempted a high-risk traffic stop. The vehicle began to flee, however a Cass County deputy was able to lay spike strips in front of the vehicle, flattening its two front tires. Officers followed the vehicle at low speeds, due to the flat front tires, to the 600 block of 38th Avenue E. in West Fargo. The driver exited the vehicle and was telling officers to shoot him. A Taser was deployed on the suspect and he was taken into custody without further incident.
The male was identified as Pedro Dagdag III. Dagdag was arrested for fleeing in a motor vehicle, DUI, resisting arrest, possession of a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana. The Fargo and West Fargo incidents are still under investigation.
The Cass County Sherriff’s Office, Fargo Police Department and the North Dakota Highway Patrol assisted during the pursuit and apprehension of Dagdag.
