Beginning at 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 32nd Avenue W. from Sheyenne Street to Fifth Street W. will close for crews to complete infrastructure work related to the Sheyenne Street reconstruction project. The intersection is expected to reopen at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25. The night closure will allow crews to quickly and safely complete work while minimizing interruptions to daily traffic. (Detour map)

Sheyenne Street is currently closed to all traffic from 32nd Avenue W. to 26th Avenue W. The closure will allow construction crews to safely and efficiently complete pavement removals, utility replacements, and concrete paving in this stretch of the project.
This closure is part of the City of West Fargo’s Sheyenne Street reconstruction project that will improve traffic safety and efficiency on a stretch of Sheyenne Street from 13th Avenue W. to 40th Avenue W. This segment of the project from Beaton Drive to 32nd Avenue W. will increase roadway capacity from one lane in each direction to three lanes in each direction. It also includes the installation of traffic signals at major intersections, utility improvements and the addition of a pedestrian underpass at the intersection of Sheyenne Street and 32nd Avenue W. The two-year project began in 2018 and coincides with the North Dakota Department of Transportation’s I-94 interchange reconfiguration project.
Motorists in this area should plan for delays and congestion during morning and evening commutes and adjust their travel plans accordingly. Motorists should also use care while on the Ninth Street W. detour to ensure they travel safely through the semi-residential area. Always use the ‘S’ check when traveling in and around construction areas – check your speed, space and stress.
