[ARCHIVED] Sheyenne Street closure from Second Avenue W. to Fourth Avenue W. extended until Friday, Nov. 2

Sheyenne Street Pioneer Place closure thru Nov. 2

Sheyenne Street, from Second Avenue W. to Fourth Avenue W., is closed to through traffic until Friday, Nov. 2. This closure is to allow construction crews to complete sewer and water tie-ins for the new Pioneer Place development and patch the road following the utility work. Motorists and commercial trucks in the area can use First Street, which is two blocks to the east, to travel around this area. The closure, originally scheduled through Monday, Oct. 29, was extended due to construction issues with storm sewer tie-ins.

Sheyenne Street Pioneer Place closure thru Nov. 2

Pioneer Place is phase 2 of the City of West Fargo’s downtown mixed-use development, which began with the building of Sheyenne Plaza and the POW/MIA Plaza. Pioneer Place will including retail and commercial space on the lower floors with 51 residential units on the upper floor. The building will also include a workout room, community room, pet deck, rooftop patio, underground parking and open outdoor parking.

The nearby POW/MIA Plaza is a city-owned flexible, community space located at the intersection of Sheyenne Street and Fourth Avenue W. Adjacent to the Arthur W. Jones Post #7564 VFW, the plaza honors military heroes who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect this country. The plaza features a large-screen display screen, artificial turf and programmable light poles and is open to the public and available for booking special events by completing the POW/MIA Plaza rental request form at https://www.westfargond.gov/817/POWMIA-Plaza.
